First off, I need more time to revise. Other projects, particularly those made way more complicated than they should be, are taking up way too much of my time.
I feel very confident in the first two pages I revised of my story. The next four pages, however, kept falling flat. I’m starting to run out of ideas for rewriting whole sections from scratch.
I think at this point I will try more changes in point of view, and if they don’t work by half of a page, then I will save it as an exercise and revert to the perspective I already had. Then I can go through my first draft and start filling in backstory, tightening up language, and ensuring voice and characterization are consistent.
